ACEROLA
(Malpighia emarginata), Barbados cherry, West Indian cherry, wild crepe myrtle
are other names for acerola. It is known for being very high in vitamin C.
and this form is better absorbed by humans rather than synthetic
ascorbic acid. There are 1677.6 mg of vitamin C in 100 g of fruit.
Acerola has been used to treat dysentery, diarrhea, and liver disorders. Because
of the high vitamin C, acerola could increase gout and kidney stone formation.
