CARRAGEENAN is a common food additive extracted from red seaweed, Chondrus crispus, also known as Irish moss. Carrageenan has no nutritional value, used as a thickener, emulsifier to improve the texture ice cream, yogurt, cottage cheese, soy milk, even toothpaste, other processed foods. Small amounts of carrageenan causes inflammation starting an inflammatory process: heart disease, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, cancer, many GI symptoms are attributable to carrageenan.
