AFLATOXIN may be present in a wide range of food commodities: peanuts, corn, cacao, cereals, oilseeds, spices, tree nuts. Maize, pistachios, brazils, chillies, black pepper, dried fruit and figs are all known to be high risk foods for aflatoxin contamination, but the toxins have also been detected in many other commodities. Aflatoxin triggers cancer growth, especially liver cancers by the host eating greater than 5% of protein daily. The protein source can be from an animal source.
