Avoid detrimental for PKD/PLD, white tea, decaf, green tea, all contain caffeine. Caffeine increases cyst growth. Other names: Lipton, Bigelow tea, Harney Paris tea, Earl Gray, Chinese Gun Powder. Even the smallest amount of caffeine is harmful to PKD and PLD. Increased kidney cyst growth is correlated with decreasing kidney functioning. Caffeinated beverages should be discouraged in PKD/PLD. Caffeine enhances cAMP; potentiates the effects of vasopressin on chloride secretion and cell proliferation; inhibits phosphodiesterase.
