METHANOL Deaths have occurred when unsuspecting travelers have drunk methanol (a clear liquid) while thinking it was gin or tequila or vodka. Deaths have been reported from travelers to Indonesia drinking mixed alcoholic drinks. The American Chemical Society (ACS) has found that some tequila contains methanol (wood alcohol) that can make you go blind & cause permanent neurological damage (Parkinson's, MS), not to mention giving you a nasty hangover.
